About the Memory Academy

The Memory Acacemy is a Dublin-based business that was founded by Charles Garavan. Our aim is to provide courses and products to help people to improve their ability to learn and to remember.

In order to learn something you must do two things: you must understand it and you must remember it. Most people use the same technique to try to achieve both aims: they read, over and over again. While reading is not a bad way of trying to learn something, it is a simply terrible way of trying to hold it in memory.

The Memory Academy courses and products provide an alternative to this type of rote learning. They teach effective and practical techniques for learning and memorising any kind of factual information whether it is of a professional, academic, business or social nature. These techniques can be applied in an easy and enjoyable manner with immediate results.

The learning and memory techniques that we teach are based on current scientific knowledge of how memory works, on systems used by competitors in the World Memory Championships and on original methods specifically developed by Charles Garavan for the purpose of enhancing learning skills and exam success. Using these techniques Charles was able to achieve first place in the Irish Taxation Institute final exams, including first place in two of the four papers.

OUR COURSES

All our courses are specifically designed to address the learning needs of the participants and are guaranteed to enable them to learn any kind of information more quickly, to retain it for longer and to recall it more accurately and with less effort. OUR PRODUCTS

The Memory Academy aims to provide a range of products to teach our innovative memory improvement and learning techniques. Our first book, How Best to Learn and Remember for Leaving Certificate is available for sale now through this website. This book teaches a range of techniques to help Leaving Certificate students to take the correct approach to studying for their exams and to remember what they learn. These techniques can easily be applied by any students to improve their performance, no matter what kind of examination they are studying for.
